Julia... A fighter!

Meet Ms. Julia! She is 4 years old, and one of the sweetest little girls I have met. Julia was diagnosed with Acute Myeloblastic/Myeloid Leukemia on September 10th 2008. The night before her diagnosis, Julia started running a low grade fever. Mom took her to Walmart to get some Tylenol, while they were there, Julia became more sick and ended up vomiting. How many times have our children gotten sick, and we just treat them at home. I have 4 children, so it is quite often that we are dealing with fever's , Stomach bugs, etc. But Mom's instinct's kicked in and she took her to the Hospital. After hearing the full story, I believe God told Mom to take her in. :) When they arrived, they did their standard blood work, and ended up admitting Julia. At this point, Mom was still not receiving any answers. When morning came, they informed Mom that they would be transporting her to a Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. When Mom asked why... they informed her that Julia had Leukemia. They started Chemo immediately. They asked Mom if she had noticed any signs-fevers, bruising, etc. Mom had said that she hadn't . And Doctor's believed that they caught it right at the beginning. Mom is very thankful for the Doctors and Nurses, she says "she (Julia) felt sad and depressed at that time, but nurses showered her with toys that she could play with to keep her busy". At one point soon after Julia began chemotherapy, her port caused an infection, so she had to have surgery to move it to the other side of her chest. Julia unexpectedly lost a lot of blood during this procedure, and the Doctor's did not think she would make it out of it. She was placed in the ICU, and made a complete recovery! The Doctors were astonished! Julia has almost hit her 3 year mark of remission! This little girl doesn't even know how strong she is!! She definitely touched my heart!
